How do I register my pet?
As a new owner you can select "Register New Pet" on the home page or follow this link. Fill in all information about yourself and your pet and click on "Submit".

As existing owner you can:

  • Sign in to your account (input your e-mail address and password in the fields to the left).
  • Select "Register new Pet" on the left menu.

How do I retrieve my password?

How do I transfer my pet to a new owner?
To transfer a pet to a new owner please follow these steps:
  • Sign in to your account (input your e-mail address and password in the fields to the left).
  • Select "Change Owner" from the left menu.
  • Select the pet you want to transfer to a new owner.
  • Input the new owners's e-mail address and select "Submit".
  • PetLink will now e-mail the new owner and ask for confirmation.
Please ensure the new owner's spam filter allows emails from PetLink.

I adopted a pet, I am a new owner, what do I need to do?
Your adopted pet may already be registered in the PetLink database. To verify registration:
  • Enter your pet's microchip code into the field on the left (below "Search Microchip") and select "Go."
The pet is not registered
You can register the pet just like any new pet:
  • As new owner - register your pet
  • As existing owner, sign in to your account and select "Register new Pet"

The pet is registered
If the previous owner did not transfer pet ownership directly to you through the "change owner" function on his or her profile at http://www.petlink.net/us, you will need to download our transfer form and complete the information about the previous owner (which you can get from the shelter where you adopted your pet), the pet and yourself.

Please return the form by post with a check for $16.99 payable to "Petlink" and mail your check and the transfer form to PetLink, Datamars, Inc. - 8433 South Ave. Bldg. 4-2 - Youngstown, OH 44514 - USA. After we receive the transfer form and your payment, you�ll be sent a confirmation.

If the previous owner did transfer pet ownership directly to you through the "change owner" function on his or her profile at http://www.petlink.net/us, you will receive an email from the PetLink team with a link that will take you back to PetLink where you will need to fill your personal information to create your own account. Once your account will be created, the pet will be transferred directly to you.

Why is my pet's transponder number already registered?
Sometimes the transponder of a pet is already registered in PetLink. Please follow these instructions to register your pet.
  • Verify the transponder number - please make sure you typed your transponder number correctly.
  • You know the previous owner - your pet had a previous owner and they registered your pet before. If you know the owner, please ask them to transfer the pet to you.
  • You don't know the previous owner - your pet had a previous owner but you don't know them. Please download the transfer form to initiate the transfer.
  • This should be the first registration of my pet - somebody might have registered your pet's transponder number by accident. Please download the transfer form to rectify the problem.

I would like to add additional pets
You can add as many pets as you wish on your account. To add a new pet please follow these steps:
  • Sign in to your account (input your e-mail address and password in the fields to the left).
  • Select "Register new Pet" in the left menu.
  • Provide your new pet's details and click "Submit".

Log in issues can sometimes result from your browser.

How can I update my pet information?
To update your pet's information please follow these steps:

  • Select "Pets" in the left menu.
  • Select the name of the pet you want to update.
  • Select "Edit Pet" at the bottom of the page.
  • When completed click "Submit"

I cannot find my vet
All vets who enroll in the ResQ PetLink program should be registered in the database once they have sent the request to be added. If you cannot find your vet in our list, we would suggest adding them as "Additional Contact".

To add your vet's contact details follow these steps:

  • Sign in to your account (input your e-mail address and password in the fields to the left).
  • Select "My Information" in the left menu.
  • Select "Edit My Information" at the bottom of the page.
  • Input your vet's name and contact details in the "Additional Contact" or "Other Additional Contact" section

I would like to buy a blue plastic replacement tag
The Blue tag you received when you purchased your ResQ microchip is only distributed with the original purchase. However, you can purchase a stainless steel engraved collar tag directly from PetLink. My client does not have an email
You can create an e-mail address composed of Microchipnumber@petlink.tmp and the password will be your Microchip Number. Example: if your pet microchip number is 981017654536767, your email will be 981017654536767@petlink.tmp and your password will be 981017654536767. If your client does not have a computer, they can always update their information by contacting the call center (1-877 PetLink).

My pet is deceased
We are sorry to hear of the passing of your pet. Please take time to update its profile.
  • Sign in to your account (input your e-mail address and password in the fields to the left).
  • Select "Pets" from the left menu.
  • Select the deceased pet
  • Select "Edit Pet" at the bottom of the page.
  • Change the "Pet Status" to "Deceased" (towards the bottom of the form).
  • Select "Submit"
Please note that deceased pets will no longer be shown in your list of pets. However, the pet is still recorded in our system.

What are the emails I will receive from PetLink?
PetLink sends you a confirmation of registration once you have first registered you pet.

The PetLink Team will also contact you at least 3 times a year to check whether your contact info is still correct. We think this initiative is critical to ensure we can rehome your pet easily by having correct information.

What kind of microchips can Micro Max read?
All 15-digit microchips such as Bayer ResQ, Datamars, Banfield, Crystal Tag (134.2-kHz ISO FDX-B microchip types only).
