Chwbie is a dog I adopted six years ago so my daughter could have companionship and responsibility during her teenage years, but he became emotional support for both of us. He is very important to me.
Recently, he was living with my daughter in North Carolina, where she now has her own home and is expecting a baby. I asked her not to give him away or put him down, and to please wait a couple of months so I could arrange the paperwork and travel to bring him to live with me. I wanted to give him a peaceful, loving old age, because I cared for him and grew deeply attached to him. I even had a microchip placed under my name.
Two days ago, she told me she had given him away to a family in Fort Bragg. It was completely unexpected. I was in shock, and I?m grieving deeply. I can?t accept the idea of losing him like this or never seeing him again.
