Buddy, our Coonhound, was picked up on May 23 by our local animal control. He was scanned in the field and when, as occasionally happens with portable scanners, the scan showed no result, he was taken to the animal control facility to be scanned again. The double check showed Buddy was chipped and registered that he belonged to us.
Also, Buddy’s identity was tracked through his license tag. That meant his vet was also notified that he had been found and the vet also notified us. We were afraid he was gone for good, but finally were reunited on May 25 thanks to the microchip and the great people at animal control.
