Our Cavalier King Charles spaniel was let out while I was cooking dinner.  As we sat down at the dinner table I realized that he wasn’t in the house. Turns out he had taken a walkabout and made it a pretty good ways away from our house (he isn’t typically a wanderer but I guess something caught his attention).  A good samaritan found him VERY interested in something in the middle of the road and stopped to pick him up because he was worried for his safety.  He did have a collar on but not his usual one with name and number and no tags.  Needless to say, we were reunited several hours later because they thought to check his chip at a local pet store.  Very very thankful for this service and the fact that it managed to reunite us.

We have a tri color Cavalier King Charles as well.  Our dog tends to bolt as soon as the front door is open.  Luckily, we don’t have a lot of cars on our street.  We always have his collar on with tags and he’s chipped as well.  So glad you got your dog back, so nerve wracking but there are good people that’ll certainly do the right thing.
