I was at a wedding out of state and left my Puggle, Zorro, with my roommate to be watched over. Well, my roommate left the front door open and wasn’t keeping an eye on Zorro. A neighboring dog walked by and Zorro went outside to visit. Afterwards he decided to enjoy the scenery. By the time my roommate noticed Zorro was gone, he couldn’t find him in the neighborhood. After calling the pound and police stations, someone said they did have a dog that resembled the description given. My roommate had taken the dog tags off Zorro earlier, so there was no identification on him, just a collar. Luckily, Zorro’s microchip had my name and address attached to it when accessed by the vet scanning. So, when my roommate went to pick Zorro up, he was able to prove with our lease agreement that Zorro belonged to our household and got him back before I returned. There was no doubt but that Zorro was indeed mine!
