We were unloading groceries from the car and had left the front door open just a little. Our Terrier Maggie darted out the door (totally out of character for her) and took off running down the street. My husband chased her on foot and then had to return to the house to get the car to look for her. She was nowhere to be found and he returned terribly upset. We sat there debating what to do next when the phone rang. It was a local veterinary office who asked, ‘Do you have a dog named Maggie?’ She then told us someone had picked her up and brought her to the vet’s office. They scanned her for her chip and got the information to call us. I couldn’t believe how quickly we were able to get her back. I was so thankful we had taken the steps to have her microchipped. She was back at home within thirty minutes, safe and sound!
