I have an unusual dog, a German Shepherd/Husky mix called Love. One day Love ran away from home to find some friends. The neighbor who lived behind our house at the time found her and was ready to keep her for himself. He had already taken off her collar and tag and the only reason he released her was because my mom acted quickly and was able to verify the number on the tag. At the time Love did not have a microchip but following this cautionary experience, we got her one right away!
