When my puppies were very small, I had the opportunity to have them microchipped. I really didn’t think I would ever have to depend on them. My dogs are small, and are in the house most of the time. When they go outside, they are in a fenced yard. Yesterday, my little Shih Tzu, Chuey, somehow managed to get out of the yard. We couldn’t find him anywhere. I was at work and my son in law and grandson were looking all over the neighborhood for him. The weather here has been extremely hot – in the upper 90s. Needless to say, I was sick to think Chuey was loose, hot, and near very busy roads.
He had no tags on because he had just been bathed and hadn’t gotten them back on. At about 1:15, I got an email on my phone from PetLink saying that he had been found. Thank God (I mean that literally) that a wonderful woman saw him on a very busy street, a long way from our house and took him to a vet hospital. The vet scanned for a microchip, and found all of my information. Because I had him microchipped, I was able to be reunited with my fur baby. I will always be grateful that I got Chuey microchipped and registered with PetLink.
