My black cat, Bottlebrush, escaped as we were leaving PAWS after his surgery to be neutered. He climbed a fence and ran into the thick jungle growth where we live in Florida. I contacted businesses in the area, giving them “lost cat” posters with his photo on them. It doesn’t sound like much, but making the posters with the PetLink template gave me something to do and that was an emotional help.
Bottlebrush had been microchipped, so it gave me comfort that if he was found I had proof that he belonged to me. The animal shelter confirmed that they look for chips on all the strays brought into their shelter.
My son and I went into the jungle for several days calling for him. Sunday morning, as I was going out to search and call again, Bottlebrush meowed just outside the carport! He had found his own way home.
