While away on vacation, we were informed that my dogs were allowed to leave their yard and wandered into the community. When I found out, I immediately contacted PetLink. Since my dogs are microchipped and registered with PetLink, I knew PetLink was a great resource in locating my dogs. I filed a lost dog report and also contacted my local animal shelter to see if the dogs had been recovered. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan located my dogs about a mile from home and transported them to my local animal shelter. Baldwin Park Animal Shelter personnel scanned both dogs and was able to determined the dogs were chipped at Pet Doctor’s in La Puente, CA. Pet Doctor’s personnel advised the animal shelter of my contact information. I received a phone call from the animal shelter and was reunited with my dogs when we returned home from our vacation.
For all pet owners, if you haven’t already done so, please do two things:
1) Microchip your pet
2) Register your pet with PetLink. As you can see, this is the best course of action to get your pet back home.
