I was taking pictures and Sparky, my Bichon Frise, who hates having his photo taken started hiding. At the time, furniture was being moved from our detached garage through into a gated back yard. The movers forgot to close the gate and, terrified, Sparky decided to escape the commotion through the open gate. He had never been outside the yard at night and I was so worried for him. Sparky has a microchip but luckily he didn’t even get as far as the vet or the pound. Instead, Sparky’s PetLink collar and another identifying tag that I had on his collar permitted the young girl who found him several blocks from home to call me. Tearfully, I discovered that Sparky had been found on the highway, crossing a railroad track. The kind girl saved Sparky and his PetLink account spared me further anguish and tears.
