The usual wanderlust and need to patrol came out in our Great Pyrenees, Summer, yesterday. We live in foothills on three acres of pinion-wooded forest in New Mexico. All of it is fenced so that Summer can do a lot of roaming. Fortunately, she is well trained to come when called so when she did not respond to our calls and when we saw the gate was open, we knew she’d gone afar.
We were thrilled when we received a call from the Humane Society telling us that a person had found Summer and kept her safe overnight. Summer has a microchip so when the kind neighbor talked with our animal shelter, her PetLink information came up in their files and PetLink called us. We were so happy!
