Izzy was missing for 51 days and was eventually found 15.1 miles away from my home. He was found by a woman who was feeding a feral cat and Izzy thought he could share. The feral cat chased him into the woods, and the lady followed him. She popped him into a carrier once she caught him and took him to a vet to be scanned. Thank goodness I had him microchipped! It was a shock to actually have had someone find him after all those days. He was covered with fleas, the vet who scanned him gave him a one time pill and some kind of parasite killer assuming that he probably ate a few critters while he was on his “vacation”. I have discovered that he likes to get into cars when the door is left open. I think that may possibly be the reason he got so far away from home. Thank you again PetLink, and I hope this message helps someone who is on the fence to consider getting their pet microchipped.
