I brought Harvey with me when I moved from Sacramento to Los Angeles. He just got out of the yard while the gate was open and suddenly he was out alone on a really busy LA street. Thankfully, someone picked him up, took him to a vet to be scanned and contacted me. My contact details had changed so PetLink tracked me down through my dad who called the friend I live with. Even then, I still got him back, perfectly fine, in a couple hours.
My best advice is that, if you have a pet, get it microchipped with PetLink. Their chips save lives. Read more
