Getting a chip in our mixed breed, Vader, has been the best investment ever. Our underground fence is irreparable at the moment, due to frozen ground, so we did not even realize he had broken his lead the morning he got out. His name tag kept falling off of his collar so I made sure that his PetLink tag was on the collar at least.
Vader has needed his chip a few times … once he found his way to the shelter even faster than we had the time to go outside and see that he was missing! I picked Vader up from the shelter again and he is safe, sound and happy to be home. He is also getting a daily walk so he doesn’t take one by himself!
My best advice is that, if you have a pet, get it microchipped with PetLink. Their chips save lives. Read more
