My family’s experience with PetLink has been amazing! I never had a microchipped dog before I got Bonnie. She is a Shih Tzu we rescued from our local animal shelter when we were picking up a Doberman we had been fostering. Bonnie caught our eye and we were told that, despite efforts to contact Shih Tzu rescue centers, no place had been found for her and she was first on the euthanasia list for the next day. Instead of suffering that dreadful fate, Bonnie came home with us along with a voucher to get her chipped. We decided that before we went on vacation, we’d have our other two dogs chipped, too. Two nights before we left, I registered them all with PetLink. To cut a long story short, on the fifth day of our vacation I got a call from a local vet asking if we’d lost Bonnie. A Good Samaritan had found her running down the middle of a country road at least half a mile from our house. I don’t know why Bonnie chose to slither through our fence, but she did! Thank goodness the people who found her took her somewhere where she could be scanned! From 700 miles away I arranged for Bonnie to be returned home. If it had not been for PetLink, we wouldn’t have got Bonnie back. I will never have another dog without a microchip.
