I moved away and didn’t restrict my cat, Ricky, to staying inside the new house for long enough for him to know his way back once he did venture out. I have spent four months crying, putting flyers through the mailboxes of over 2,500 houses, looking for Ricky everywhere, posting on Craigslist for twelve weeks straight but still I found nothing and no news of Ricky. Four months later, I got a call from an emergency vet saying that they had him! A lady had seen Ricky trying to stay on all four legs but he was so weak that he was falling. He would literally be dead now if that lady had not called animal control and if Ricky had not had a microchip. He would have been put to sleep by the shelter due to his critical condition if I hadn’t been found. THE ONLY HELP was the PetLink microchip, because Ricky was six miles away from home and I would never have found him otherwise. PLEASE microchip your animals, even if they are indoors only!!! We never know what can happen.
