Late one night we heard a tiny kitten meowing outside, and found little Scarlett begging “up” to come on the patio. We were able to pick her up easily, and she immediately started snuggling and purring. We bought her some food and water, and saw that she had no collar. We took her in for the night, keeping her secluded from our other two kitties to ensure safety. We took her to the vet the next morning to check for a microchip and found that she was chipped, but never registered through PetLink. I was given the PetLink number to call for more information. Though since she was not registered, PetLink could not provide me with information; they guided me to AVID who had an owner listed on file and was able to contact them for me. We found that the owner was not interested in keeping her, so we met with her to pick up her medical history and certifications. It astounds me that someone would not want this little ball of snuggles, but am so joyful that she found us. Of all the people in this neighborhood, she came to our patio, meowing for help; as if she knew she was finding a pair that have a special place in their hearts for animals, especially cats, that would take her in and take care of her “furever”.
