Safely Home: Sofi Plays Possum

Our Chihuahua, Sofi, got out and found herself all alone, straying around the compound of my grandmother’s retirement community. PetLink helped us to develop our ‘Lost Pet’ signs and we went around looking for her. Even though Sofi was missing, we believed that she was eating the food we were putting out for her because it was always missing in the morning.

When we set up a camera to see if it was Sofi taking the food we discovered it was a possum and gave up leaving food! When we were traveling back to South Carolina from Miami, we got a call from someone who had spotted Sofi. As much as we wanted to turn back we couldn’t. So we called our family back on the compound and they looked in the place where Sofi had been seen but no one could catch her. Then, the next morning they looked on their patio and there was Sofi sleeping safely in a chair. She had finally realized which of the houses was her home.
