When we lost our Pit Bull, Maximus, my five sons and one daughter couldn’t go to school the next day they were so upset! Someone picked up Maximus, thinking he was lost, and took him home. They were initially going to keep him and they brought him to the pound. But having the microchip saved Maximus! If he wouldn’t have had a chip he wouldn’t have been brought back to me. The guy who found Maximus told me that not knowing if he had someone else’s dog kept him awake all night long! “Something was weighing on my heart – I have Rottweilers myself but if the Pit Bull hadn’t have had a chip, he would have been my dog!” he said.
When the finder called me to say he would bring Maximus to me, I opened my big mouth saying he was a $4,000 dog. Then I was kind of worried, scared the guy wouldn’t bring him back to me. But he said, “Sure, I’ll bring him to you” and I paid him $200 to say thanks and because I didn’t have to pay any kennel fees.
