We have been reunited for the second time thank you so much! I love PetLink! My Shih Tzu Creamy dug his way out of the yard a few weeks ago with our other Shih Tzu Tiny. I got them back really quickly thanks to Creamy’s microchip. Creamy and Tiny act like they belong on a farm, they keep on digging holes under the fence and they’ve been taking off on me again. This time they dug a hole as usual but in a different place on the opposite side of the yard – they do have a rather large yard to play in. So they got out in the afternoon and were gone until the next evening. They turned up at a local high school not a mile away. They were playing in an even bigger yard, out on a football field before school started! When the kids started coming to school they ran into the hallway and got apprehended. The first time they got out I just so happened to be coming home, picking something up for work and got the call from Animal Control who were nice enough to put them in the back door of my garage. But the second time was my downfall. Even though Animal Control made several attempts to contact me after the microchip was scanned on the PetLink database the dogs got taken to the pound and I had to pay a $180 fine. I guess though that the money goes towards running the facility and the upkeep of the infrastructure. I could see that the dog pound was a rather nice establishment and the dogs were well taken care of, cages and animals were clean and food and water was fresh. So I don’t really mind paying for a service that’s doing its part taking care of animals although when I went to get those runaway Shi Tzus, just for a moment, I thought they would actually be safer in the pound because I wanted to wring their necks! But they’re only one year old and you can’t be mad at puppies.
