Thank you, PetLink, for your concern in reference to us reuniting with our dog George. He did get home safely just a matter of minutes after you called us. Thankfully, the pet hospital he was taken to is just a few short blocks from our home. Unfortunately, this was not the first time that we have been contacted by PetLink because of George. He was a dog that was a stray and was brought to the Dumb Friends League from Raton, New Mexico and we adopted him five years ago. George is a big German Shepherd mix, but he has an amazing ability to find even the smallest place to fit through and escape from our yard. I think he still has some of the wanderlust he had before he found a home with us. Fortunately, every time George gets out, someone finds him and gets him to the nearest pet hospital or shelter and PetLink immediately contacts us. I don’t think I will ever have a pet that isn’t chipped and registered. We’ve lost a pet before and spent many nights and days wondering where they might be, and if they are hurt, or worse. With PetLink, we don’t have that worry. We know that as long as George is picked up, whether it is by a kind person or by animal control, the chances are very good that we will get him back home.
