Our West Highland Terrier, Doug, is a new rescue dog and chewed his way out of our fence. My husband and I were both at work and I got a call from the animal shelter asking, “Are you missing a dog called Doug?” My heart sank because I didn’t know what kind of news I was going to hear. Then the caller from the shelter explained that Doug had been found running around and was taken to the shelter. I also got two emails from PetLink letting me know that Doug had been found and asking me to follow up.
I can’t explain how lucky we feel to have Doug back. I think he would have been gone forever – or worse – without the microchip. Needless to say, the fence has been fixed and reinforced!
