As part of our routine every morning, I will let Ellis out to use the potty while I finish getting ready for work. On that fateful morning, Ellis, a Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix, was nowhere to be found! We searched and called everywhere to no avail. Days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months and still no Ellis. I was so worried because somebody should have called by now. He had his tags on with my info and he was microchipped but, alas, still no Ellis. Six months later, I received a very surprising phone call from PetLink saying they had found my Ellis! A very awesome gentleman named Brian found my baby around his area. He waited to see if anyone would claim him and after an hour or so of waiting, he decided to take him to the nearest vet and had him scanned. I’m so glad he did because now baby is back home with us!
PetLink made sure to call me right away when they found my dog. They helped me get in touch with Brian so that we could exchange information and arrange to meet. I’m so glad I invested in getting Ellis microchipped. I’m guessing whoever had him didn’t take him to the vet or he would have been scanned and I would have been notified. I nearly gave up on the idea that I would be reunited with my baby again. But microchips work! My dog is now safely back home with us and I’m so ecstatic!
