I had let Sparky out back and went about getting the rest of my lunch. A couple of hours later, when it was time to pick up my daughter Rosey from school, I opened the door and called for Sparky. After not seeing him, I walked around outside to find him. That was when I noticed the side gate was open. The house we rent includes a gardener. Every week, I check the gates after they leave, but this was the one week I did not. I drove around the block then headed to pick up Rosey from school. On the way home, we received the call from PetLink that Sparky had been found and was waiting at the animal shelter. We turned and headed to the shelter immediately. It was great to know he was safe and we were excited to pick him up and take him home. The lady at the shelter even said it was great that we had him licensed and had registered his microchip. She said that so many dogs have a microchip but their contact details are not registered.
