My dog, Rocky, got off his chain on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. He must have backed out because he left his collar and tags behind. I searched all day Saturday and posted ‘Lost dog’ posters on Sunday. I figured that, because of the holiday, if Rocky were to get picked up by animal control, I wouldn’t hear anything till the following Tuesday… and that’s what happened. The woman at animal control called me at 9:00 am and asked me if I’d lost something. I told her that, as a matter of fact, I had! I had Rocky back home in a matter of hours and he was more than ecstatic to see me. If he hadn’t had that chip, there was a good chance that I might never have seen Rocky again because he wasn’t kept at the local animal shelter over the weekend. Instead, because there was no room at the shelter, he was transferred to another, more distant, animal hospital. So thanks, PetLink. Your chip is obviously a great idea and it worked for me. Prior to Rocky spending three days in the slammer he was a constant runner… not so much now.
