Two days after I took in a new, stray cat, my other cat, Minka, disappeared. That night and the following nights I went up and down my street with a flashlight, checking every bush and tree. I had thoughts of what horrible things could have happened to her, but I tried to stay positive. PetLink gave me hope and tips for finding my fat kitty. I printed ‘Lost cat’ posters and distributed them to every house on my street. Every day, I drove slowly through the neighborhood, hoping to find Minka.
I went to the animal shelter when I could, to see if she had been turned in. My hope was that someone would turn her in because they thought she was pregnant, due to her very big belly. Fortunately for me, that is exactly what happened. After nine days, I was close to losing hope when I got a call from Paul at the animal shelter, asking me if I had a missing cat. He told me they scanned Minka upon arrival and found my contact information. I’ve never been so happy to have a fat kitty with a microchip, because, thanks to the chip, the friendly people at the animal shelter knew where my Minka belonged.
