Our beautiful black cat, Sammie, had been missing for over two months and I was just at the point of accepting that I would never see him again. I myself was eight months pregnant when I got a phone call from a vet’s office about 20 minutes away from where I live, saying that someone had brought Sammie in!
I started crying hysterically and my boyfriend JUMPED off the couch and got his shoes on, ready to go – I think he thought we were headed to the hospital! Sammie had traveled a few miles during our stormy winter and over several extremely busy streets to hang out at some lady’s home near our post office.
The lady who was feeding Sammie posted an ad on Craigslist for a sweet and friendly cat. These people picked him up and took him to the vet for a check up … who routinely checked for a chip. Thank God! And thank the microchip!
