Our three-year-old opened a side gate and we weren’t aware of it when my hubby put Gypsy, a miniature Schnauzer, outside to potty. Then he wondered where the dog was, because she did not come back to the door to get into the house again. It turned out that Gypsy had found the back gate open and made a run for it. I was studying at a different location miles away. So, dad loaded up the three-year-old and my aunt, and off they went in search of Gypsy.
Other family members heard of the emergency and also headed out to drive around the neighborhood in search of our dog. About five hours later, the door bell rang and daddy and the three-year-old jumped out of their seats to find a neighbor from a few blocks away carrying Gypsy! They had contacted PetLink thanks to her ID tag. PetLink were able to advise them that Gypsy belonged to us. Crisis averted!
