After he got loose and ran away on February 20, 2013 we almost lost hope of ever finding our Silky Terrier, Teddy, again. We put flyers all over and made sure to give flyers to all of the local groomers and vets. On April 11, 2013 we got a phone call from a woman who had seen Teddy in the next neighborhood over from our house. She had seen his picture on a ‘missing dog’ flyer in one of the vet offices. We went to the area where he was spotted and searched and put up more flyers. On April 13, 2013 I got an email from PetLink and a phone call from the Humane Society. Animal Services had brought Teddy in and his microchip was registered to me.
Teddy was found in an area more than 30 miles from our home running around stray. It’s disappointing to think that someone might have had him and tried to keep him from us – which is what the Humane Society staff said is probably what happened. Because he wasn’t wearing a collar with an ID tag on it was only the microchip that saved Teddy and brought him home to us. Teddy is now safe at home and we are so glad to have him back!
