Around 9:00 PM on Thursday July 21st, my dog Sam got out the front door of our house. Because it was so sudden he was not wearing his usual collar with his name, address and phone number. My husband and I went walking and driving all over our neighborhood calling for him, asking people if they had seen him, and recruiting people to help us find him. We had no luck. As it got later and later, I began giving up hope and couldn’t stop crying. I was sick to my stomach that he was lost for good, got taken, or could have been hit by a car with it being so dark and late. Around 11:00 PM I received a phone call from a number I didn’t recognize. It was a man telling me he had found my dog Sam! He and his wife had taken him to a 24 hr. pet clinic and got his microchip checked and it gave him my information. I was thrilled. I gave him my address and within a half hour Sam was back at our home safely. I also later realized I had received an email from PetLink that told me Sam had been found! The email told me the name, phone number, and email of the person who found him.
If it were not for the microchip and the man who took the time to get Sam to the vet, I don’t think we would have our dog back today. I am so grateful for the PetLink system – my best friend back safe and sound.
