Lucky is a beautiful white Maltese. I paid $600 for him when he was a puppy. I live in Fort Colorado and one day, three years ago, I took him to my sister’s in Aurora to have his hair cut. I was doing the laundry, folding clothes and I told my kids and my sister to keep an eye on him. But Lucky ran out the door and I jumped in the car to go after him. In spite of his tags with my address and phone number, we couldn’t find him at all. After maybe a year, my sister called to say she thought she’d seen Lucky with some people down the street. I went to see them but it was another dog. Then, after he’d been missing for three whole years, a lady found him wandering on a road and took him to PetSmart where they scanned him and contacted my family. Whoever had him did take care of him and called him by another name because he didn’t recognise his name ‘Lucky’ when we said it. We’ve been together again about a month now and the kids are really excited. It was so sad when he was gone, we thought we’d never see him again and didn’t want to get another dog. We did get a Chihuahua so now everyone’s adapting, Lucky’s getting used to us again and is getting a lot of love.
