Dosu, my Great Dane, is back home. I had him microchipped because one time he was missing for five days and it took a lot of effort to find him and get him back. After I microchipped him, he ran off again two days later. This time, however, I received a call just one hour after he left. The caller told me that Dosu was found and that he had a large cut on his paw but was OK. After I picked Dosu up he went straight to the vet where he was neutered and had his paw fixed. He hasn’t run off since. I do believe microchips are the best way to find your animal and prove the animal is yours!!! Everyone should have this done, even if your dog doesn’t escape like Dosu. Someone could take your dog from its home and you have no way to prove the dog is yours unless you have a microchip.
