Mollie jumped over our 6 ft. back fence. She tends to be a runner and explorer which was why we got her microchipped in the first place. After almost a full month (2 days shy) of posting on CraigsList daily, frantically checking found dog listings, walking through the neighborhood yelling her name then listening for her bark in someone else’s yard, and dragging my two-year old through the shelter every evening hoping to find his Mollie-Gog ๐Ÿ™ we’d had no luck. Then, just after arriving at work one morning my husband called to say that someone had found her. She ran to a gas station in our neighborhood that my husband frequently walks her to, but a new person was working that morning, so he just called animal control to pick her up (although it didn’t quite work out as planned, I’m SO glad she was bright enough to go somewhere she might be recognized). As soon as she got to the shelter, they scanned her for a microchip, and my husband was on his way to pick her up. ๐Ÿ™‚ All of this happened on a Tuesday, and since it was so close to being a month, we had just decided that SUNDAY to stop devoting so much of our lives to finding her, when she may be gone for good. We needed to move on, because our toddler could even tell that something was just WRONG all the time ๐Ÿ™ We had to move on so we could let him have his happy environment back. He’s only two and doesn’t quite understand, and we can’t force a feeling of bereavement or grief on him. Who would want to?? Thanks to PetLink, we have our girl back… as soon as we stopped looking, there she was!
