I was worried sick when I noticed my Australian Cattle Dog, Blue, was gone. I waited, hoping that he would be back in a minute or two, then I started to call for him. Usually, he doesn’t hesitate, but, when I whistled and he still didn’t come, that’s when I knew something was wrong. I called Animal Control and all the surrounding animal hospitals and vet offices. Then, finally, I got a call from the vet’s office, saying that someone found Blue and dropped him off. The chip showed he was my dog.
I did not hesitate – I jumped into my vehicle and made a beeline to the vet’s office to make sure he was alright. When I got there and saw Blue, it was pure relief. Blue was anxious to get home and, when we did, I made him a ‘welcome home’ steak with gravy and I let him have my sneakers as a chew toy. Now, I have a new pair and Blue and I are never far apart.
