Wolf, my unneutered, male Australian Shepherd, decided he wanted to go for a swim and couldn’t find his way home. I assume what happened was that Wolf was hit by a car and abandoned. While he was missing I was able to update my contact information on the PetLink site in the event that someone had found him. PetLink also offered a page for creating your own ‘Lost Dog’ flyer. A great lady who just lost her own Aussie after it was hit by a car, picked Wolf up and brought him to her vet. THANK God he was microchipped! The vet contacted me and we were reunited. Wolf sustained a badly broken left front leg and a minor fracture to the right but after surgery and LOTS of antibiotics, he is well on the road to recovery. I would never have been able to reunite with Wolf without his chip and I fear he would have died without medical assistance.
